Deep vein thrombosis is the formation of blood clots in the deep veins, usually in the legs. Patients with DVT are presented with symptoms similar of trauma in the leg area. To be able to differentiate DVT from other conditions with similar symptoms, nurses should exercise their critical thinking and assessment skills.
